On Saturday, May 13th, East Westwood and Westwood hosted their first annual Mother’s Day Lunch and March for mothers who have lost a child(ren) due to violence. Over the past year, both communities came together and have made great strides on our communities. This was a way to give back to Mother’s and to let them know they are still remembered.

Guest speaker, Carolyn Glaspy, talked about life with and without Chris Henry, our beloved Cincinnati Bengal. Many of the mothers enjoyed being able to listen and relate to Carolyn’s story. The event ended with an art project so that mothers could have something positive to remember the day and their child(ren). Many of the volunteers and mothers are already excited for next year’s event. Westwood, Cincinnati WestWood Carolyn J. Glasgow-Du Bois New Page 2

Community Outreach Advocate, Valarie Dowell, also attended this event.
