CHRC’s Great Youth Debate is scheduled for Saturday, October 29, 2016, 9:00am-1:00pm in Cincinnati City Hall Council Chambers. This year’s theme: “What’s Trending in the World of the Election”. Our young people need to know they have a voice and that using that voice is an option when you disagree. More importantly, disagreeing can be healthy and a beneficial part of life.

The debate topics will include:
* Is America Ready for a Woman as President
* Does Your Vote Really Count
* How far can You go before You become a Political Bully

Prizes and trophies will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams. The Debate is free and open to the public.

TODAY, Resource Fair, 2:00–6:00pm at the Corner of Reading Road & Rockdale Avenue in Avondale hosted by Community Outreach Advocate, Steven Sherman. CHRC’s Community Outreach Advocates (COA) are continuing to give back to the community and provide resources for assistance. In case of rain, the fair will be indoors at South Avondale Elementary School.
Using the theme, “Unity in the Community”, the COA’s goal is to bring the community together. The Resource Fair is a family friendly event that will include inspirational speakers, food, games and much more.
This is a great opportunity for young people to realize how much support they have in our community, as well as, receive information to some resources they may not be aware of. This event is free and open to the public.

The Cincinnati Human
Relations Commission in collaboration with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office
hosted a community conversation on “Consumer Awareness & Protection”.
The Ohio Attorney General
is committed to protecting Ohio consumers from scams, fraud and other
unscrupulous business practices. In addition to investigating, prosecuting and
litigating consumer complaints, the Ohio Attorney General has developed a
prevention program to educate Ohio consumers before they become a victim.

Yesterday staff attended the Under One Roof: Sukkah Art Exhibit “Home” Reception. 
Join the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission (CHRC) along with other artists and view large multimedia fabric panels exploring this years theme “Home” in the Mayerson JCC courtyard displayed in celebration of Sukkot.* Below is CHRC’s panel. 
Find out about the heart of other panels while we share the soul of CHRC’s piece.
In collaboration with Cincinnati ArtWorks and over 40 local organizations, Under One Roof is a unique space where people are invited to have a meal, conversation and view the art in this one-of-a-kind community art collaboration.
*Sukkot is the Jewish Harvest Festival and is celebrated by building a sukkah (booth) outdoors and welcoming guests.
