The members, appointed by
Mayor Mark Mallory, come from
various sectors of the Greater Cincinnati community and offer a wide array of
knowledge that will enhance the work of CHRC. Each will serve a three year commitment.

It’s the Olympics of choral music – the largest international choral competition in the world held every two years. Previous games have been in Austria, China, Germany and South Korea. This will be the 7th World Choir Games, and it’s being held in the United States for the first time July 4-14 in
Cincinnati USA. The Games are the signature event of INTERKULTUR, Germany-based organization that produces choral events all over the world.
More than 360 choirs from 48 countries have registered to participate. There are roughly 80 regional choirs, and choirs representing 25 U.S. states.

CHRC Annual Meeting – May 10th at 6:00PM |

The Cincinnati Human Relations Commission (CHRC) will
host its annual meeting on Thursday, May 10 at the
Hilton Netherland Plaza Hotel Pavilion Caprice. Dinner will begin at 6:00 pm with an
awards and recognition program to follow.

352-3237. General reservations are $75/person. VIP reservations are
$125/person.
CHRC will be honoring the Champions for Connecting
Cultures and Communities nominees: Rabbi Abie Ingber of the Office of
Interfaith Community Management at
Xavier University, John Prout of
TriHealth, Patricia Smitson of
Thompson Hine LLP, and Kathy Wade, an
international entertainer, producer and community activist. CHRC will
also honor the Bishop Herbert Thompson, Jr. Distinguished Humanitarian
nominee, Deborah Allsop of
Families Forward. Finally, CHRC will honor J.
Phillip Holloman of
Cintas Corporation and Clarence Pauley III of
University Hospital with the Merlin G. Pope, Jr. Leadership Diversity
Award.

2010 Summer Youth Employment Program |
Applications are still being accepted for the Summer Youth Employment Program. Applications may be picked up at the Sickle Cell Awareness Building at 3770 Reading Road or at the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati on 3458 Reading Road.
Program requirements: Must be between the ages of 14 and 18, a resident within the city limits, available to work 15 hours a week, and meet the income guidelines.
